Root canal treatment

Root canal treatment, also known as endodontic treatment, often makes people think of pain. The treatment is carried out under local anaesthesia so that it can be performed without pain.

There are several reasons why root canal treatment may be needed. In most cases, the living tissue inside the tooth, called the pulp, is or has been inflamed. During treatment, we remove the inflamed pulp, which often cannot heal on its own. We remove any remaining pulp, clean the canals and usually place a temporary filling, allowing treatment to be completed at a subsequent visit.

We work closely with several specialists. In particularly complex cases, you will be referred to an endodontist.
