Dental care for a child at Dental Clinic Hagens

Prevention

A good dental hygienist is an essential part of our practice. A dental hygienist is an allied healthcare professional working in oral healthcare, with a particular focus on preventing and treating inflammation of the gums and the tissues supporting the teeth.

The dental hygienist cleans your teeth by removing tartar and plaque. Stains caused by tea, coffee, cigarette smoke, red wine and spices are also removed. You will also receive guidance on improving your own oral hygiene.

If you have crowns, veneers, bridges or implants, oral hygiene is particularly important. Visits to the hygienist help prevent cavities and gum problems and support the lifespan of these restorations. Plaque, tartar and gum problems can shorten that lifespan.

Children and prevention

You may have seen newspaper reports or heard in the news that children's oral health has deteriorated considerably in recent years.

Our mission is to help prevent this. At Dental Clinic Hagens, we start prevention, education and additional guidance as early as possible. Prevention is always better than cure.

We believe that children who learn to care for their teeth at a young age are more likely to take good care of their permanent teeth too.

Every child is different, and we take that into account. We create an individual care plan for each child to help prevent tooth decay.

Children can also earn a toothbrushing certificate.
